KAAC team under Tuliram meets CM on MOS execution

DIPHU, Sept 13: A team led by the chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang on Tuesday met chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the latter’s official chamber in Dispur to discuss about the implementation of MOS Agreement 2021 signed with the Government of India and Assam.
The delegation met the chief minister for the implementation of MoS Clause 3.6 for setting up Karbi Welfare Council for the development of Karbis living outside the jurisdiction of KAAC.
The president of Karbi Ex-Revolutionary United Forum, Prodip Terang said the Karbi Welfare Council is to focus on the development of those Karbis living outside the KAAC area. Terang urged that MoS Clause 3.6 be implemented as soon as possible.
“In accordance with the MOS Agreement 2021, the government of Assam shall set up a Karbi Welfare Council for the development of Karbis living outside the KAAC area. Met Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in order to discuss and review the matter,” CEM Tuliram tweeted.
Minister for Education, Welfare of plain Tribes & Backward Classes, Dr Ranoj Pegu; deputy Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly, Dr Numal Momin; MP, Horen Sing Bey; MLAs Darsing Ronghang, Bidya Sing Engleng and Rupsing Teron; Dumra Karbi traditional king, Holising Ronghang; former leader of People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK), Sarsing Engti alias Songbijit Ingti Kathar; former leader of KLNLF, Prandak Ronghang and others were also present in the meeting.
