BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 8: The cheque distribution ceremony of one-time financial aid declared by the state government began on Friday at Biswanath. A total of 45 Bihu committees have been shortlisted for the financial aid from the district. The ceremonial distribution was organised here at Cheniram Das memorial park on Friday evening. Three Bihu committees including Sangyog Sangha of Biswanath Chariali, Sanmilit Mancha and Dakhin Rangchali Bihu Committee of Behali were handed the cheques. The cheques were distributed by Ranjit Dutta, MLA Behali; Pramod Borthakur, MLA Biswanath and Biswanath DC Munindra Nath Yangte. Bhaskar Jyoti Bora, journalist of Biswanath conducted the proceedings of the inaugural session that was attended by ADC’s Liza Talukdar, Biswajit Saikia along with Mohan Mahanta, Niranjan Hazarika besides others.
