Assam CM chairs review meeting on Orunodoi scheme’s new beneficiaries’ inclusion

GUWAHATI, Oct 20: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday chaired a meeting through video-conferencing with public representatives, deputy commissioners and members of the District-level Monitoring Committee to review the progresses of the surveys for inclusion of new eligible beneficiaries and exclusion of ineligible beneficiaries with regards to the Orunodoi scheme.

The chief minister stated that the surveys on the current financial situation of the state’s 20 lakh beneficiaries of Orunodoi scheme have been concluded and the documents regarding the same have been sent to the respective deputy commissioners. The chief minister also directed the members of the District-level Monitoring Committees to collect the data from the deputy commissioners and complete the investigation regarding those left out of the scheme till date and prepare a list of the new beneficiaries within the next 10 days.

In order to ensure timely payment of Orunodoi amount to the beneficiaries in the month of November too, the chief minister further asked the District-level Monitoring Committees to convene a meeting by the coming October 22 and finalise the data by October 25. The chief minister further directed the deputy commissioners to upload the final data by October 28. The chief minister appealed to all quarters to prepare the new list of beneficiaries by rising above political ideologies and partisan intentions.

Thursday’s meeting was attended by cabinet ministers Atul Bora, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Dr Ranoj Pegu, Ajanta Neog, Jogen Mohan, MPs Pallab Lochan Das and Pabitra Margherita and senior officials of the government.
