DIBRUGARH, May 4: The women cell of the Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) organised a one day international workshop on ‘Fundamentals of filmmaking’ at DHSK Commerce College here on Wednesday. The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Dibrugarh chapter of ACTA and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the host college. Dr Amiya Pator, vice-president, ACTA, women cell formally inaugurated the workshop. Dr Kiran Hazarika, member of University Grant Commission (UGC) and principal, Tengakhat College graced the inaugural function as the chief guest. Sailen Gogoi, vice-principal, DHSK Commerce College delivered the welcome address. Jatindra Nath Gogoi, president, ACTA, Dibrugarh zone offered the vote of thanks at the end of the inaugural session. Dr Swapna Nath Upadhyaya, secretary, ACTA, women cell anchored the inaugural function. Earlier, Dr Tanka Prasad Upadhyaya, convenor, IQAC of the college greeted the gathering. At the outset, Dr Bidisha Mahanta, an assistant professor of the host college presented a Borgeet. The workshop consisted of a total of four technical sessions in which Mridupawan Bora, Rayhan Rafique Ahmed (through online mode from Dubai), Rakesh Changmai and Tridib Konwar delivered training on the topics ‘Fundamentals of Filmmaking’, ‘Cinematic Sound Design & Film Score’, ‘Editing’ as well as ‘Cinematography and Cinema Lights’ respectively. More than 100 trainees consisting of students, academics, researchers, and other film lovers were given certificates at the concluding function which was attended by Pranjal Gogoi, academic secretary, ACTA among others. At the end of the day’s program, Dr Tanka Prasad Upadhyaya, co-ordinator, IQAC, DHSK Commerce College offered the vote of thanks.
