Assam Direct Recruitment Examination 2024 scheduled statewide

GUWAHATI, Sept 10: The Dima Hasao district administration held a press meet on Tuesday to discuss the upcoming Assam Direct Recruitment Examination, scheduled for September 15, 2024. This examination will be held across the entire state of Assam, including in Dima Hasao district. The press meet was chaired by AK Ilias Ahmed, additional deputy commissioner (ADC).

ADC Ahmed informed that a total of 7,979 candidates (Male: 3,928; Female: 4,051) will appear for the posts of Class III and IV across nine examination centres in Dima Hasao. Notably, an all-female examination centre has been set up at Haflong Government College to ensure a secure and inclusive environment.

To maintain a smooth and fair examination process, thorough frisking will be conducted at all centres. The district administration has urged candidates not to carry any prohibited items. Mobile phones (even if switched off); electronic devices such as smartwatches, bluetooth devices, earphones, scanners, or microphones; calculators, pen drives, water bottles, and any textual materials (printed or written); any item that can be used for unfair practices during the examination are restricted. The permitted items are blue/black pens; pencils, scales, and erasers; admit card; identity card (such as a debit/credit card, driving license); a small amount of cash.

Candidates are reminded to carry their identity cards, which will be checked at the frisking points. Only candidates and authorised officials will be allowed within 100 metres of the examination centres; no guardians or other individuals will be permitted.

District commissioner Simanta Kumar Das, ACS, has issued an order under Section 10(1) of the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024. This order strictly prohibits unauthorised possession or disclosure of question papers, as well as any unauthorised entry into examination halls. Violators may face up to three years of imprisonment, ensuring the integrity of the recruitment process.

To assist candidates, control rooms have been set up at the District Commissioner’s Office (03673-236222), New Haflong Railway Station (7002769661), and Haflong Bus Stand (8638715185). Local transportation operators have also been requested to offer their services to candidates across the district. Additionally, arrangements will be made for scribes for ‘Divyaang’ candidates upon request.

The administration has also appealed to hotel and lodge owners, as well as transport operators, to treat candidates fairly and refrain from charging exorbitant prices.

The press meet was attended by ADC AK Ilias Ahmed, and assistant commissioner Shukram Chouhan, ACS, along with various members of the press.

Our Tezpur correspondent adds: A district-level preparatory and review meeting for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) 2024, scheduled for Grade III and IV on September 15, 2024, September 29, 2024, and October 27, 2024, in Sonitpur district was held on Tuesday. The meeting took place in the presence of Oinam Sarankumar Singh, central observer for Sonitpur district and commissioner of Industries & Commerce, Assam, in the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sonitpur.

District commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra briefed the observer on the district’s overall preparation for ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination, focusing on addressing rumours, maintaining security, and preserving the sanctity of the examination process. Superintendent of police Barun Purkayastha outlined the traffic and security arrangements at the district’s examination centres. ADC Kabita Kakati Konwar, ADC Twahir Alam, and the district’s circle officers, along with concerned officials, were present at the meeting.

Following the review meeting, the central observer, accompanied by the district commissioner, addressed a training session for centre in-charges of Tezpur LAC at the new conference hall of the DC’s office. Sarankumar Singh later visited and inspected the strong room centre and a few examination centres. It is noteworthy that around 61,706 candidates will be appearing for the ADRE 2024 for Grade III HSSLC level posts across 155 examination centres in Sonitpur district on September 15, 2024. Out of these, 32,093 candidates are from other districts.
