Assam Governor greets people on Christmas

GUWAHATI, Dec 24:  Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the Christians in particular and all the people in general on the occasion of Christmas, an official statement on Tuesday.

The Governor while greeting the people on Christmas said that since the day is celebrated commemorating the birthday of Jesus Christ and everybody should take the occasion as an opportunity to learn from the virtues of Lord Jesus.

“He also urged upon everyone to follow the teachings of Lord Jesus, recalling his efforts to create a compassionate society filled with love and humanity,” the statement said.

Governor Acharya requested the people to use this occasion to spread the message of love, peace, friendship and universal brotherhood among mankind.

“He also said that the occasion resonates with the teachings of Christ, which remind all of the noble life and sacrifices of Jesus Christ,” the statement added.
