GUWAHATI, June 11: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria graced the esteemed Mega CA Students’ Conference with his presence, held in the city on Sunday. The conference, organised by the Guwahati branch of the ICAI, revolved around the empowering theme – ‘Aatma Deepo Bhava: Be your own light’.
In his address at the conference, Governor Kataria highlighted its significance as a platform for students to expand their knowledge, foster idea exchange, and build valuable connections. He expressed his heartfelt hope that each attendee would flourish in their chosen endeavours, utilising their skills and talents to make a profound impact on the nation-building process.
Commending the efforts of the ICAI in organising the remarkable conference, Kataria emphasised the education system’s pivotal role in enhancing national prosperity. He called upon the students to proudly embrace their responsibility as dutiful citizens, actively participating in socially relevant missions and development initiatives. Furthermore, he encouraged CA students to contribute innovative ideas to strengthen the country socially, economically, and culturally. The Governor urged them to propose business models that prioritise consumer satisfaction, environmental sustainability, and global acceptance.
Recognising India’s glorious history, rich culture, and thriving economy, Governor Kataria emphasised its potential to emerge as a global superpower. He regarded CA students as pioneers in the financial realm, with a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to this transformation. The Governor stressed the importance of collective brainstorming among CA students to devise strategies that can propel India towards becoming a ‘Vishwa Guru’ or a global leader.
Additionally, Governor Kataria appealed to the students to pledge their commitment to exploring their potential and making substantial contributions to the nation’s growth.
The conference witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the vice president of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Ranjit Agarwal, former president of the institute, Dr Debasish Mitra, SSEB chairman Mangesh Kinare, Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of ICAI chairman Debayan Patra, former president of EIRC Ravi Kumar Patwa, president of ICAI’s Guwahati branch, Dr Ayush Saraf, secretary Ragini Goyal, and several other distinguished personalities.
