Assam: Mother-daughter killed in lightning strike in Barpeta

Barpeta, May 5: A mother and her daughter were tragically killed in a lightning strike in Assam’s Barpeta district, as per Sunday’s reports.

The deceased, identified as Momiron Nessa, 60, and Joshna Khatun, 20, were at their home in Saorachara village when the incident took place.

An 11-year-old boy, Iqbal Hussain, was also severely injured in the incident and is currently receiving treatment at Barpeta Civil Hospital.

Following the lightning strike, the victims were immediately taken to a nearby medical facility in critical condition. Despite attempts to save them, the mother and daughter did not survive.
