Guwahati, Nov 17:
Assam signalled a new hiring phase after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma used X to confirm that 4,000 police posts will be opened in the coming round of recruitment.
The announcement linked directly to the government’s target of two lakh public sector jobs. The police intake forms a major portion of that target, with the new posts intended for units that manage day to day policing, district deployment and operational duties.
The Chief Minister posted a short line, “Swagat nahi karoge humara?”, before stating that the next set of recruits will join Assam Police with what he described as pride and honour. The Home Department is expected to release the recruitment schedule next.
The plan adds another stage to Assam’s employment roadmap, with recruitment drives continuing to shape the state’s staffing pattern across key departments.
