NAGAON, April 8:Â Agriculture department, Nagaon ceremonially distributed power tillers and other agricultural inputs under various subsidised government schemes sponsored by union as well as state governments including RKVY, BGREI and NFSM at a function held at the office premise of Agriculture sub-division office, Koliabor on Thursday last.
The programme was chaired by Debajit Neog where district agriculture officer Tarun Hazarika, assistant commissioner, Kaliabor sub-division (Civil) Trishna Ripon, assistant deputy director of Agriculture Dr Bipul Sarma and SDO, Agriculture, Koliabor Ranjan Deka were present as invitees.
During the programme, the department concerned distributed power tillers among three beneficiaries respectively – Modan Chauhan, Suma Mura and Bhaskar Jyoti Bora. Besides, the officials of the department concerned also distributed various agricultural inputs as well as various seeds of current season crop especially maize, vegetables, black gram, green gram and other among over 200 farmers of the sub-division.
While addressing the occasion, Tarun Hazarika, district agriculture officer, Nagaon urged the farmer community of the district to avail the benefits of those governmental subsidised schemes so that the community could extend their respective hands to boost the rural economy of the state as well as the country.
Significantly, the department concerned also distributed subsidised power tillers and other agricultural inputs among farmers under the various schemes at the office of Agriculture sub-division, Raha on Wednesday last, a release added.
