Axom Sanskritik Mahasangram To Be Held

DIPHU, Oct. 02: Along with other parts of the state, the Karbi Anglong district administration has
intensified preparation for Axom Sanskritik Mahasangram, 2023-24. The programme will be held from
October 25 to February 7, 2024.
The event is being organized by the state cultural affairs department that will include singing and dance
competitions at every gaon panchayat, ward, VCDC and member of autonomous council (MAC) level in
Assam. Interested candidates are required to download the application form from
https://directorculture.assam.gov.in and submit it to the gaon panchayat office, municipal office or
block development officer’s office by October 10.
The songs have been divided into four categories namely Bhupendra sangeet, Bishnu Rabha sangeet,
Jyoti sangeet and Rabindra sangeet. Specific songs for the competitions have to be downloaded and
performed. 25 Bhupendra sangeets, 21 Bishnu Rava sangeets, 20 Jyoti sangeets and 19 Rabindra
sangeets have been selected for the competition.
Contestants can download these songs from any reliable source. For details, the designated officer in
charge of the district commissioner’s office and the state cultural affairs department may be contacted.
Youths from different parts of the state can participate in the competitions in three categories of 12-18
years, 19-24 years and 25-35 years in addition to the team categories.
The Karbi Anglong district administration is expecting a huge response from the public in all categories
of the competition.
