Laying the foundation stones Engleng said, “I have visited the place last year and thought of providing some support to the Children Home as children without parents are being taken care of here by Mission Concern.”

The Mission Concern member Sanju Bora informed that there are 32 children staying in children home. They are either parentless or of child abuse children or adopted. They are being cared for by Mission Concern. The children are sent to nearby schools for education.

The MLA also inaugurated a piggery at Mission Concern. Bora said the piggery was for rearing pigs by members and children staying at children home so that some income is generated to meet the expenses of the Mission Concern.

Later, the MLA visited Dhansiri Cluster Level Federation (CLF), while having its annual CLF meeting. The MLA interacted with the members of CLF and inspected the activities of the SHGs. The MLA has assured of providing Rs 5 lakh for construction of a hall. Engleng was impressed with the self supporting activities taken up by the SHGs members.

It can be pointed out here that the Dhansiri CLF has members of 272 women SHGs. The SHGs are engaged in different economic activities like weaving and handlooms, piggery, goatery, poultry and farming to support each other. The products from the activities are brought to CLF for sale. Last year the Dhansiri CLF had a turnover of Rs 1.50 lakh. It has also received an all India level best CLF.
