Biswanath College conducts workshop on Molecular Biology

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Feb 12: The Departments of Zoology and Botany, Biswanath College, successfully conducted a one-day workshop-cum-hands-on training programme on “Fundamental Techniques in Molecular Biology” under the DBT STAR College Scheme, Government of Assam, in collaboration with IQAC, Biswanath College on Thursday. Approximately 50 students from Biswanath College and Behali Degree College participated, aimed at strengthening practical competencies in molecular biology.

The technical sessions were led by Dr Nima D Namsa, Assistant Professor at Tezpur University and expert in Molecular Virology, assisted by research scholars Kasturi Saikia and Deepsikha Keot. Dr Chinta Mani Sharma, Principal of Biswanath College, chaired the inaugural session. Dr Indira Sarma coordinated the event, while Dr Naresh Thakur (IQAC Coordinator) addressed the students and Pallabika Dihingia introduced the resource person. The workshop was convened by Dr Sunayana Goswami (Programme Coordinator, DBT STAR College Scheme) and Dr Nilofer Sheikh (HoD, Botany).

It concluded with a valedictory session hosted by Dr Rahul Sarma (HoD, Zoology), where participants submitted feedback forms and were awarded certificates of participation.
