Boat mishap

DEMOW, July 3: Parmesh Sahani (40), a resident of Dhaibari near Nitaipukhuri, went missing in a boat mishap on Wednesday in the Brahmaputra River. According to information received, Sankar Sahani and his brother Ukil Sahani had gone to Jorhat Hatihal in Nimati to rescue their relatives from floods. On their return to Dhaibari in a small boat through the Brahmaputra, due to the strong current, they faced difficulty near Desangmukh Ofalia around 10:30 am on Wednesday. Shivalal Mala, Amarjit Mala from Nimati Hatihal, and Ukil Sahani managed to escape, but Parmesh Sahani is missing.

SDRF has initiated a search operation in the Brahmaputra, but as of the filing of this report, Parmesh Sahani remains missing.
