Bodoland University signs MoU with Thailand’s Surindra Rajabhat University

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 28: Bodoland University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Surindra Rajabhat University, Thailand, marking its first academic collaboration with a public university in Thailand.

The agreement was formalised on Thursday during the IASTEM 2025 Conference held at Surindra Rajabhat University in Surin Province.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in developing joint academic programmes, curricula, and high-quality educational activities aligned with international standards.

The partnership will facilitate the exchange of faculty members and students for teaching, seminars, and cultural programmes.

It will also support joint academic supervision for student internships and the organisation of short-term training programmes, including Thai and English language courses, business studies, and intercultural exchange activities.

Both universities will collaborate on research initiatives and jointly host conferences, seminars and workshops in areas of mutual interest.

The MoU was signed by Surindra Rajabhat University president Dr Chalong Sukthong and vice president Dr Amnway Wattankonsiry.

Representing Bodoland University were vice chancellor Prof BL Ahuja, registrar Dr Subung Basumatary, and Prof A. Ibemcha Chanu, Dean of Commerce and Management Studies.

While the vice chancellor, registrar and other senior officials attended the ceremony online, Prof Chanu was present in person.

The signing ceremony was attended by faculty, staff, large groups of students from Surindra Rajabhat University, and international delegates participating in the IASTEM 2025 Conference.

Surindra Rajabhat University is widely recognised for its work in promoting indigenous cultures and strengthening STEM education.

As per the agreement, the MoU will remain valid for five years and may be extended for an additional five-year term unless either party gives six months’ notice before its expiration. Any modifications to the agreement will require written consent from both institutions.
