MARGHERITA, Nov 13: Tension prevailed on Monday after a dead body was found at the Bargolai
Telkhad basti in Margherita in Tinsukia district.
The deceased has been identified as Robin Thakuri, a resident of Bargolai Telkhad basti under
Margherita police station of Tinsukia district.
The deceased had been working in Arunachal Pradesh and had come to his house during the Diwali
festival.
Thakuri was found dead lyinmg on the bed at the rented house of Nanu Tanti.
The police soon reached the spot and began their investigations into the matter. They discovered empty
syringes in the house that the victim had taken up for rent.
The police meanwhile have detained Nanu Tani for questioning. The body has been sent for autopsy.
“We have detained the landlord, Nanu Tani for questioning. The main cause of death can be ascertained
only after the autopsy report arrives,” said a police official.
Family members of the deceased, however, suspect it to be murder.
