GOSSAIGAON, July 23: As political activity intensifies ahead of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) on Wednesday held a key meeting at the Saraibil Block office under Gossaigaon subdivision to strategize its campaign and poll management.

The meeting was led by two-time elected MCLA of Saraibil constituency, Mrityunjoy Narzary, and attended by booth-level workers and functionaries from 16 primary party committees in the area. Discussions focused on voter list reviews, identification of supporters, and finalisation of constituency-wise election strategies.

Addressing media persons after the meeting, Narzary expressed strong confidence that BPF candidates would secure victory in all five constituencies under the Gossaigaon subdivision—Srirampur, Jamduar, Kachugaon, Saraibil, and Guma.

He criticised the ruling UPPL for failing to deliver on development promises, stating, “No significant development has taken place in BTC under UPPL’s rule. They even failed to maintain the work we had already initiated. Pramod Boro has only misled the people in the name of peace.”

Narzary also alleged that peace and stability, which prevailed during the BPF’s previous tenure, have been undermined under the current administration. “Now they are trying to disturb that peace again. But the people are aware. Lies and empty words will no longer work,” he added.

Reiterating the BPF’s prospects in the upcoming elections, he said, “This time, the public has decided to bring back Hagrama Mohilary to power. Under his leadership, BPF will form the government with an absolute majority.”

The party’s meeting at Saraibil was seen as a reaffirmation of BPF’s organizational preparedness and electoral confidence in the Gossaigaon subdivision.
