BTAD Gaonburah Association conference concludes in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 6: The 20th Foundation Day and fourth five-year triennial conference of the All BTAD Gaonburah Association concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme held at the Gaonburah Bhawan campus at Kargaon in Kokrajhar district.

During the delegate session, members of the association held detailed discussions on issues related to the welfare and social well-being of citizens across the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts.

Several resolutions were adopted, focusing on long-pending issues and grievances faced by Gaonburahs in the region.

A new central committee of the association was constituted for a three-year term, with Robert Kerketta elected as president and Birhang Mushahary as general secretary.

BTC executive member Lwmsrao Daimary attended the open session of the conference as the chief guest and addressed the gathering.

Earlier, outgoing association president Dhananjay Brahma hoisted the association flag, followed by floral tributes to Gopal Chandra Basumatary, the founder president of the association, marking the formal commencement of the conference proceedings.
