KOKRAJHAR, Dec 4: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) is set to initiate large-scale teacher recruitment for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools across its districts, Education Executive Member and MLA Rabiram Narzary announced during the Winter Session of the BTCLA on Wednesday.
Narzary said the BTC Education Department has completed the necessary preparations and finalised strategies to begin the recruitment process soon. A total of 984 teaching posts will be filled in the LP and UP categories under the council.
He informed that a selection and scrutiny committee has already been constituted to oversee the recruitment process. “On 22 January, teacher appointments will be made for the Lower Primary and Upper Primary levels,” Narzary stated, adding that recruitment for Graduate and Post-Graduate teacher posts will follow thereafter.
The EM further said that an advertisement would soon be issued for 901 additional posts. He added that a committee comprising educationists and intellectuals will be formed to ensure the procedures remain free, fair, transparent and efficient.
Narzary reaffirmed the BTC government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and filling long-pending vacancies to improve teaching standards across the region.
