KOKRAJHAR, June 30: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed Late Tikendrajit Narzary Memorial Digital Cinema Hall at Serfanguri in Kokrajhar district.
Built at a cost of nearly ₹2.5 crore under the Department of Cinema, Government of BTR, the cinema hall aims to promote art, culture, and community entertainment in the region.
The hall is named after Late Tikendrajit Narzary, a celebrated actor in Bodo cinema.
Speaking at the inauguration, CEM Boro said the event marks a significant moment in the history of Bodo cinema.
He highlighted that construction of five more digital cinema halls is currently underway across various subdivisions of BTR and expressed hope that all projects would be completed within the current financial year.
Boro also announced that senior artists of Bodo cinema are being felicitated by the BTR government, which will also extend financial assistance to film directors and producers to encourage more Bodo-language film production.
“The inauguration of this hall is a milestone in enriching art, culture, and community entertainment in BTR,” CEM Boro said.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including BTCLA Speaker Katiram Boro, BTR Executive Members Ranjit Basumatary and Ukil Mushahary, and MLA Lawrence Islary.
