Notably, the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) was launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on June 1, 2020 for providing affordable working capital loan to street vendors to resume their livelihoods that have been adversely affected due to Covid-19 lockdown.

It’s worth mentioning that the new PM Svanidhi Yojana is a welcome step to change this scenario and empower them with micro-credit to help them in their personal as well business needs. The main intention of this scheme is to provide small credits for working capital loan to the street vendors, wherein they can take a collateral-free loan for one year and at low-interest rates. This can help them to revive their businesses and earn their livelihood back.
