SILCHAR, June 17: The Cachar district administration has imposed prohibitory restrictions around all centres designated for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 re-examination to ensure its smooth and fair conduct on June 21.
The restrictions have been imposed under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, in view of the examination being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at seven centres across the district.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Aayush Garg, the administration has taken precautionary measures to prevent any attempt to disrupt the examination process or engage in unfair practices.
Under the order, only candidates appearing for the examination and officials involved in conducting and monitoring the test will be permitted to enter or remain within a 100-metre radius of the examination centres on the day of the examination.
The administration has also prohibited the carrying of electronic gadgets, mobile phones and any other materials banned under the examination guidelines that could be used for unfair means inside examination halls and rooms.
Officials stated that the restrictions are intended to maintain a peaceful and conducive environment for candidates and ensure the integrity of the examination process.
The order has come into force with immediate effect and will remain in operation throughout the examination period on June 21.
The district administration has warned that any violation of the prohibitory order will attract legal action under the relevant provisions of law.
Meanwhile, the administration has appealed to members of the public to cooperate with the authorities and help ensure the successful and orderly conduct of the examination across the district.
