Campaigning on for students union elections at Lanka Mahavidyalaya

HOJAI, Feb 13: As students union elections are round the corner in Lanka Mahavidyalaya located in Lanka under Hojai subdivison, campaigning is going on full swing, each candidate is trying to woo students voters in their favour. As per information, at Lanka Mahavidyalaya the election of Students Union will be held on February 16 and on the same day votes will be counted.

This time, elections are significant here as the ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarati Parishad) has given weightage to women empowerment; and, for the first time a female candidate viz., Anamika Chanda has been given chance to contest election for the post of general secretary.
On the other hand, Ankit Ranka from ABVP will contest for president’s post, Ajay Bhagat for vice president, Pankaj Poudel for assistant general secretary, Niharika Devi for cultural secretary, Koulinya Bhattacharya  for assistant cultural secretary, Sayan Bhowmick for games and sports secretary,Rajen Verma for assistant  games and sport secretary, Rashmi Nandi for magazine secretary,Nabajit Dey for assistant Student Welfare secretary, Muskan Sahu for debating secretary, Vivek Singh for Boys Common room secretary, Sonia Bhowmick for Girls Common room secretary.
It is pertinent to mention here, Deep Swarup Shil have won the election uncontested for the post of class representative. However, the independent candidates are also trying their level best to give a strong contest to ABVP candidates
