CATC Camp begins at JNV

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 7: The 84th CATC (Combined Annual Training Camp) of 5 Assam NCC Battalion, formally began on Friday at JNV, Sonitpur located at Biswanath.
Colonel OP Pandey, the commanding officer of 5 Assam NCC Battalion, Tezpur delivered an inaugural address on Friday morning. During his speech, Colonel Pandey briefed about the role and importance of NCC cadets in the nation building process. He further added that during this 8-day long camp cadets will be imparted basic training for drill, physical fitness, weapon training including range firing. A troupe from the Naval wing will provide basic training on shipping. In addition to this, the Naval wing will carry out an expedition from Biswanath Ghat to Pandu Ghat.
A total of 550 NCC cadets from various educational institutions participated in the camp. The inaugural session was attended by Bornali Saikia, Abul Islam, Anjan Baskota, ANOs (Associate NCC Officer) from various educational institutions along with other officials from 5 Assam NCC Battalion.
The 8-day long camp commenced from Thursday and will continue till October 13.
