SIVASAGAR, April 29: Chief Election Officer of Assam Anurag Goel visited Sivasagar district on Monday and took stock of the overall preparatory arrangements for the counting of votes to be held on May 4.
During his visit, the Chief Election Officer inspected the strong room set up at Sivasagar Government Higher Secondary Multipurpose School. He was accompanied by District Commissioner and District Election Officer Mridul Yadav and Senior Superintendent of Police Papri Chetia. He also took stock of the security arrangements of the strong rooms and the management of the counting rooms and discussed various related issues.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad and Returning Officer of 95-Dimow Assembly Constituency Satish Chandra Thakuria, District Development Commissioner and Returning Officer of 97-Nazira Assembly Constituency Pabitra Kumar Das, the constituency Returning Officer Meenakshi Perme, Additional District Commissioner Lukumani Bora and Election Officer Aditi Neog were present during the CEO’s visit.
