Speaking at the event, Mukul Nath, president of Kobi Chakra, highlighted the role of poets in society, stating that “poets are above all sectarian feelings and are secular in outlook, capable of uniting people across boundaries.”

Veteran poet Haren Gogoi addressed the gathering, remarking that the value of poetry cannot be measured by comments on social media alone. “To write something truly new, it is essential to read and understand the works of poets from previous generations,” he added.

Prominent poet Prema Gogoi also took part in the event and recited a poem titled ‘Pathar’ written by Ram Gogoi, evoking appreciation from the audience.

In a move to encourage academic excellence, Kobi Chakra felicitated five meritorious students—Sabab Inom Hussain, Swikrity Bordoloi, Sukanya Dutta, Tanmoyee Shrutidhara Gogoi, and Byanjana Gogoi—for securing distinction in the HSLC examinations.
