The meeting discussed at length the upcoming bye-election for the Sidli Chirang LAC. The bye-election for the Sidli Chirang LAC was necessitated following Joyanta Basumatary, MLA of Sidli Chirang, being elected to the Lok Sabha from the Kokrajhar constituency in the election held this past May.

Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, cabinet ministers Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Ashok Singhal, Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), and several senior leaders from the NDA alliance partners BJP, AGP, and UPPL were present and addressed the party workers.

CM Sarma stated that the meeting focused on strengthening the NDA alliance spirit, and the UPPL candidate backed by the NDA alliance will participate in the upcoming bye-election for the Sidli Chirang LAC scheduled for October/November next. He said that an AGP candidate backed by the NDA alliance will contest in the Bongaigaon LAC, while BJP candidates will contest in Bhabanipur, Dholai, and Samaguri LACs in the upcoming bye-elections in the state.

CM Sarma expressed his confidence that the NDA alliance candidate from the UPPL party will have the last laugh in the Sidli Chirang LAC with a majority of votes. He said that the NDA alliance partners are working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of citizens across the state.

He said that during the recently concluded Parliamentary elections, NDA alliance candidates received huge support cutting across communities in the state, including the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, where the UPPL candidate backed by the NDA alliance won.

He mentioned that the NDA alliance spirit is moving in a positive, integrated direction and rendering services for the all-round development of society.

On a question about the EM of BTR, Arup Kumar Dey, Sarma stated that Dey’s remarks on the UPPL-BJP alliance have been noticed, and they do not suit the alliance spirit. He said that Dey has been asked to refrain from expressing any kind of controversial remarks on the UPPL-BJP alliance. He said that public representatives must focus on humanitarian welfare services to build a healthy society in their respective constituencies. He added that Dey’s recent controversial remarks have created chaos, and such unsuitable comments should be stopped.

CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro, said that the workers’ meet of the NDA alliance partners – BJP, AGP, and UPPL – featured a healthy discussion on the upcoming bye-election for the Sidli Chirang LAC. He stated that the meeting focused on key strategies and effective coordination between the alliance partners to ensure an overwhelming victory in the upcoming bye-election for the Sidli Chirang LAC.
