GUWAHATI, Dec 12: District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, IAS, delivered an inspiring and detailed address at the inauguration of the Mini Recruitment Drive organised at Government ITI, Srikona, on Friday. Speaking as the Chief Guest, he urged students to seize opportunities with determination, discipline and a clear sense of direction. He stressed that today’s employment landscape rewards those who sharpen their skills, remain adaptable and develop strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Calling such recruitment drives crucial gateways that can transform the lives of young professionals, he highlighted the Government of Assam’s sustained focus on expanding skill development and employment avenues. He encouraged candidates to engage confidently with participating employers, make informed career decisions and adopt a mindset of lifelong learning to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving world.
Earlier, Assistant Director of the District Employment Exchange, Silchar, Himangshu Kr Das, delivered an insightful and motivating address aimed at strengthening the spirit of the initiative. Speaking directly to the aspirants, he stressed the need to understand the dynamic job market and prepare accordingly. While qualifications may open doors, he noted that success depends on discipline, sustained effort, technical competence and a willingness to learn.
Das underscored the importance of industry-oriented training and practical exposure, urging students to adapt to modern workplace demands. He encouraged candidates to interact confidently with employers, ask pertinent questions and present their strengths effectively. Highlighting the value of punctuality, professionalism and a positive outlook, he reminded the youth that every interview is an opportunity to learn and grow. He also outlined the various employment schemes, training programmes and support mechanisms under the Employment & Craftsmen Training framework, assuring participants of continued guidance from registration to placement.
The Mini Recruitment Drive, organised by the District Employment Exchange, Silchar under the Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Assam, witnessed notable enthusiasm and participation. Designed to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, the event offered a meaningful platform for direct interaction, career clarity and real-time opportunities.
A total of seven employers, including both local and international companies, took part in the drive, offering diverse job opportunities across multiple sectors. Around 350 candidates attended the event, marking a promising turnout and reflecting the growing interest of youth in structured employment initiatives.
