GUWAHATI, Aug 25: A special team of the directorate of vigilance and anti corruption on Thursday arrested senior assistant of Dhemaji district transport office (DTO) Gobin Bordoloi for accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 from Dhemaji town.

The directorate revealed that senior assistant Gogoi demanded twelve thousand rupees from an e-rickshaw shop owner for renewing his trade license.
After getting the complaint, “A trap was laid on Thursday in the office of the DTO, Dhemaji. Senior assistant Bordoloi was caught red handed around 2.55 PM, in the DTO office premises itself soon after he accepted the demanded amount from the complainant,” the directorate said.
The directorate further added that a case has been registered in ACB Police Station on Thursday itself vide ACB P.S. Case No. 32/2022U/S 7(a) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) against Bordoloi.
