Dhubri police bust bike theft racket, two arrested

DHUBRI, July 29: In a major breakthrough, Dhubri Police have busted a suspected bike theft racket and arrested two individuals in connection with Gauripur PS Case No. 328/25, registered under Sections 303(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) relating to theft.

Acting on inputs, police recovered and seized a Hero Super Splendor motorcycle bearing registration number AS-16F-1232.

Further investigation led to the recovery of three additional motorcycles, all lacking valid documents. The vehicles have been seized for further legal procedures.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Karim Seikh (34), son of Ainal Seikh of Bagulamari, and Saddam Hussain (25), son of Late Suraf Ali of Johormura. Both are residents under the jurisdiction of Gauripur Police Station in Dhubri district.

Officer-in-charge of Gauripur Police Station, Chiranjib Lahan, confirmed that the accused were formally arrested and produced before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody.

Police sources said further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the network and identify other individuals possibly involved.
