Director of NSRTC visits ASOCA headquarters in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, July 17: Manoj Kumar, IAS, director of the National Seed Research and Training Center (NSRTC) in Varanasi, visited the headquarters of the Assam Seed and Organic Certification Agency (ASOCA) in Guwahati on Monday. During the visit, he thoroughly reviewed various aspects of ASOCA and inspected the seed testing laboratory. Recognising the importance of the laboratory, Kumar provided valuable suggestions for further strengthening its capabilities. The discussions held during the visit included the participation of Mowsam Hazarika, director of ASOCA; Dr Jiten Das, deputy director of ASOCA; Mamani Hazarika, ADA & seed testing officer of ASOCA; Dr Archana Deka, seed analyst of ASOCA; Nabajyoti Dutta, ASCO; Shyamal Mahanta, ASCO; Pranjal Gogoi, ASCO; and Chandan Kalita, ASCO, among others. The visit signifies the commitment towards enhancing seed quality and promoting organic certification in the region.
