DLSMC Meeting Held In Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, May 11: A meeting of the District Level Selection and Monitoring Committee (DLSMC) of Kokrajhar district was held under the chairmanship of Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Varnali Deka for selection of training centre and selection of 50 beneficiaries from each Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) in order to develop the driving skills of eligible youths for employment generation. The meeting was held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the district transport officer informed the house about the guidelines to be followed by the committee while selecting unemployed youths for skill training in driving and training centres for them, including receiving of 122 applications for 28- Gossaigaon Assembly Constituency, 55 applications for 29- Kokrajhar West (ST) Assembly Constituency and 51 applications for 30- Kokrajhar East (ST) Assembly Constituency.

Process of selection in Assembly Constituencies for final selection of students and field visit in order to set up three driving training centres in the district would be conducted expeditiously.

This training is an appreciable initiative of the government, which aims to give self employment to unemployed youths from BPL families in the capacity of drivers, conductors and mechanics.
