Drug addict kills mother and injures wife in Rupahihat

NAGAON, July 10: In a shocking incident, Jiabur Rahman, a drug addict from Borpoka Village under Rupahihat PS, allegedly killed his mother, Suruj Banu (50), at their home on Sunday night. Following the barbaric attack, Rahman fled the scene. Additionally, it was reported that in an intoxicated state, he also injured his wife by beating her with a piece of bamboo.

Upon receiving information from local residents, a team from Rupahihat PS promptly arrived at the location. They discovered the lifeless body of Suruj Banu lying on the floor of her house. The police immediately sent the deceased woman’s body to Nagaon BP Civil Hospital for postmortem examination. Meanwhile, the police have intensified their search for the culprit, but as of now, they have been unable to locate him till the time of filing this report.
