DHUBRI, Feb 22: The Golakganj police in Dhubri arrested a drug smuggler late last night based on a tip-off. The accused, identified as Noor Haque (32), was apprehended from his residence in Ward No. 1 of Golakganj, where he had allegedly been running an illegal drug business for a long time.
According to police sources, a raid was conducted under the leadership of Golakganj Police Station in-charge Debajit Kalita. During the search, authorities recovered 37 containers suspected to be filled with brown sugar and 64 Pavon Space Plus intoxicating tablets.

Following the seizure, the police took Noor Haque into custody and brought him to Golakganj Police Station for further investigation. Officials have confirmed that an inquiry is underway to trace the supply network and any possible links to larger drug syndicates.
The police have reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on illegal drug activities in the region and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help curb the menace of drug trafficking.
