HOJAI, April 23: Earth Day, 2022 was celebrated among the teachers and students of different classes of Arunoday Senior Secondary School in Hojai on Friday. The objective of the awareness program was to make the participants understand about the origin, importance and significance of Earth Day. A film screening was organised. The film was based on the harmful effect of plastic materials on living beings to make the students realise how they can also put effort into protecting nature; by refusing, reducing, reusing and recycling all sorts of plastic materials through small activities.
Speakers of the program Dr Prodip Kumar Sahoo and Hansraj Chauhan approached the students to spread the messages and to join their hands to make a change in the existing condition of the nature of Hojai district in connection to the theme of the Earth Day ‘Investment in our planet’. At the end of the program, participants pledged to protect and make the Earth home not only for them but also for other animals and plants.
