Earthquake preparedness mock drill held at Jagiroad College

JAGIROAD, Jan 30: A comprehensive earthquake preparedness drill was held at Jagiroad College on Thursday, conducted by the NDRF 1st Battalion, Patgaon in collaboration with DDMA and SDRF Morigaon. The exercise simulated an earthquake with students trapped in classrooms, along with a secondary fire incident, to test rescue, evacuation and inter-agency coordination.

A 25-member NDRF team led by Inspector Indramohan Singh executed the drill, while District Commissioner Anamika Tewari and District Project Officer Ranju Sharma coordinated operations from the Incident Command Post. Officials from the district administration, teachers, students and line department representatives participated to strengthen disaster preparedness and awareness.
