Eminent educationist of Jorhat Shashi Prabha Borgohain passes away

JORHAT, March 29: Eminent educationist and founder principal of Jonaki Sangha Vidyalay, Jorhat Shashi Prabha Borgohain passed away on Tuesday at a private hospital in Kolkata due to old age ailments. She was 90. Borgohain, who was a resident of Jail Road locality, was the wife of Group Captain (IAF) late Bangshidhar Borgohain. She leaves behind three daughters, one brother, two sisters, and a host of relatives.

Notably, Prabha was known to be an able administrator and her school established in 1981 became a well-known institute in the academic scenario here. She was associated with several social and cultural organisations and was a leading figure. She also was a student activist during the freedom movement and was a volunteer of the Mula Gabhoru group. Her death has been widely mourned by the residents of Jorhat.
