Organised by the Department of Agriculture, West Karbi Anglong, under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), the fair provided a platform for awareness, technical training and expert consultation for the region’s farming community.

The event began on Wednesday with a ceremonial lamp lighting and inauguration by Bedanga Kashyap Das, Additional District Commissioner of West Karbi Anglong and Ramson Rongpi, Chairman of the Village Development Committee (Bitung-Rengthama MAC Constituency). The fair was coordinated by District Agriculture Officer Tapan Dutta and Senior Agriculture Development Officer Debajit Saikia.

A highlight of the second day was an interactive technical session led by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Diphu experts Saurav Dutta and Pratiksha Baruah, who addressed several hundred farmers. They discussed modern techniques to enhance crop yield, sustainable farming practices and practical solutions to challenges faced by farmers.

The fair also featured displays of agricultural produce and modern farming equipment, while numerous Self-Help Groups (SHGs) set up stalls showcasing indigenous products at affordable prices. Specialised stalls offered high-quality seeds, pesticides and fertilisers at subsidised rates, benefiting the farming community directly.
