GUWAHATI, May 21: The first-ever North East Textile Expo 2024, organised by the International Trade Corporation (ITC), concluded with grand success. Exhibitors from Panipat, participating for the first time in the three-day expo held in the Vrindavan Garden courtyard of Sri Gauhati Gaushala at Athgaon, appreciated the event and called for it to be organised on a larger scale in the coming years. The organisers of the expo, Mrinal Ganeriwal and Vikram Modi from ITC, thanked the Panipat exhibitors by presenting them with certificates and statues of Lord Ram Lalla.
On the last day of the expo, a huge crowd of local people gathered at the venue. In response, the exhibitors from Panipat offered sample items such as blankets, bedsheets, quilts, bed covers, handloom goods, and home furnishings at very low prices, leading to a shopping spree among the customers.
Organisers Mrinal Ganeriwal and Vikram Modi highlighted that for the first time in the history of the north-east, many major manufacturers from Panipat participated in the North East Textile Expo, marking a significant achievement not only for Assam but for the entire north-east region. The expo also provided small local traders with a direct opportunity to conduct business. Both local and Panipat-based businesses praised the expo wholeheartedly.
The organisers expressed their encouragement by the positive response received from traders and the public at the inaugural North East Textile Expo. Consequently, Ganeriwal announced plans to continue and expand the expo in the coming years.
