SIVASAGAR, May 25: As precautionary measures to reduce flood damage in Sivasagar district, campaigns are being carried out to spread awareness on flood by AAPDA MITRA volunteers at different flood prone areas of the district. House and school visits to spread awareness, community meetings, etc., were done, especially along the embankment areas of River Brahmaputra.
Meanwhile, Sivasagar district administration has completed meetings with response agencies NDRF, ADRF, police, Army and others. Similarly, the administration held meetings with NGOs, volunteers and PRI members in the district.
District administration has identified 64 relief camps and 36 platforms so far. As per decisions of the ‘Flood Preparedness Meeting’ which was held recently in Sukapha Bhawan, District Flood Plan has been completed and Revenue Circle Level meetings were held.
