Freshers’ Social 2024 held at Demow College

DEMOW, Aug 22: Under the patronage of the Demow College Students’ Union, the Freshers’ Social 2024 was organised in the auditorium of Demow College on Thursday. As scheduled, the college flag was hoisted by Dr Krishna Jyoti Handique, principal of Demow College. Shyamal Hatimuriah, general secretary of the Demow College Students’ Union, offered the swahid tarpan.

An open session was held, presided over by Sukanya Dutta, president of the Demow College Students’ Union. Chief guests included Deba Hazarika, former chief librarian at Sivasagar University; Himanshu Sankar Gogoi, general secretary of the Dibrugarh University Post Graduate Students’ Union; and Bhim Dehingia, president of the Demow College Administrative Committee. A discussion was organised among the former and new students of Demow College.

The Demow College newsletter, named ‘SANKALPA’, was released. A team from Local Kung Fu 3 also participated in the program. Additionally, a cultural program was organised. The dignitaries, professors, office staff, and students of Demow College were present at the event.
