Tezpur, Nov 14: High in the Kameng Himalayas, where 16,000-ft terrain often cuts off forward posts for days, Gajraj Corps has introduced a new home-grown mono rail system that is reshaping high-altitude logistics. The rocky cliffs, sudden weather shifts and broken supply routes have long made timely delivery of essentials a constant struggle, but the new system is now changing the way remote units stay connected.
The Corps has designed and deployed its own High Altitude Mono Rail System, which is already fully operational. It can carry more than 300 kg of supplies in a single run, ensuring reliable movement of ammunition, rations, fuel and engineering tools across steep and unstable slopes where traditional transport fails. The system works day or night and continues operating even through snow, hail or storms, making it a dependable line for posts with no other communication link.
Besides routine logistics, the mono rail is also showing promise for casualty evacuation. It offers a safe route for injured personnel when helicopters cannot fly and manual evacuation becomes too risky in the harsh landscape.
The innovation reflects the adaptability and steady resolve of Gajraj Corps, strengthening readiness in isolated high-altitude posts and underlining the Army’s push for practical, mission-driven solutions in extreme environments.
