Garo Social Bodies Submit Memo To CEM

DONGKAMUKAM, July 1: Garo community of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong has demanded a nominated Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) from their community in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

Karbi Anglong Garo Union (KAGU), Karbi Anglong A’chik Cultural Society (KAACS) and Garo Students Union (GSU), Karbi Anglong submitted a memorandum to the chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang at CEM Bungalow in Diphu pressing him to accommodate one member from the Garo community as nominated MAC in KAAC.

The organisation was led by president of KAGU, Martin Marak; president of KAACS, Niharson Sangma; vice president of KAGU, Putul Sangma; president of GSU, Prakash Sangma and others.
