Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta recited the Sanskrit shloka “Kak chesta bako dhyanam, shwan nidra tathaiva cha, alpahari grihtyaagi, vidyarthi pancha lakshanam,” highlighting five essential qualities of an ideal student—perseverance like a crow, focus like a crane, alertness like a dog, moderation in consumption, and detachment from material comforts.

He urged students to adopt these traits to achieve academic excellence and serve society.

Guwahati Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta interacted with the students, stressing their responsibilities and the supportive role of parents.

“The true rebellion of a student lies in their pursuit of knowledge, not in the chase for possessions,” he said.
