June 29, Saturday: On the advice of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, a visit was made to B. Barua Cancer Institute to check on the health of Runjun Pamegam, a young student from Majuli who is currently undergoing treatment at the institute. Runjun, who tragically lost his left leg due to a terminal illness, is receiving treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

The health department, acting on the directives of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, has implemented necessary measures for Runjun’s treatment. This initiative comes in response to the critical health condition of the student and the financial difficulties faced by her family.
The Government of Assam has pledged to provide all possible assistance to ensure Runjun’s speedy recovery and her return to school. The commitment of the state government reflects its dedication to supporting the healthcare needs of its citizens, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
“I wish Runjun a speedy recovery and hope to see her back in school soon,” stated an official representative during the visit, highlighting the government’s focus on the welfare and education of young students like Runjun.
