Governor Gulab Chand Kataria Takes Stock Of Execution Of Govt Schemes In Karbi Anglong

GUWAHATI/DIPHU, Aug 17: Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on his maiden visit to Karbi Anglong on Thursday reviewed the development work of 30 departments under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).

He also held discussions on the implementation and achievements of the central government flagship programmes.

Kataria also visited Diphu Medical College and Hospital and interacted with the doctors and students and took stock of the facilities put in place for the patients.

In a meeting at the conference hall of Arboretum cum craft centre, Diphu, the Governor discussed issues on the implementation of various development schemes with the heads of departments.

He also interacted with the beneficiaries and exchanged thoughts with them. The Governor assured that he would do everything to address the issues faced by the beneficiaries.

“I am on a visit to review the implementation of various schemes initiated by the state government and the Centre,” he later said, adding he met the beneficiaries to get their viewpoints.

Chief executive member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang, Member of Parliament Haren Singh Bey, MLA Vidya Singh Englang, district commissioner, police superintendent, and heads of various departments were present during the meeting.

Earlier, the Governor upon arriving at Diphu railway station was accorded the guard of honour by the Assam Police personnel.
