GUWAHATI, June 6: The 133rd birth anniversary of Gopinath Bardoloi was celebrated at Guwahati Airport on Tuesday. On the occasion of his birthday, wreaths were laid at the statue of Bardoli inside the airport and a lantern was lit. Chief Airport Officer Utpal Baruah laid wreaths and lit lanterns. Many senior officials of the airport, Central Security Force and from various airlines of the airport were present amongst others.
By addressing the gathering, Baruah said “we are very happy and proud to celebrate the 133rd birth anniversary of the first chief minister of the state, Gopinath Bardoloi, at our airport today. We have been celebrating his birthday continuously since the year we took over the management of the airport and we will be keeping celebrate.”
Baruah also elaborated several contributions of Bordoloi as a public leader and stated how he succeeded to curve out his region from the plan to be a part of Pakistan.
IndiGo Airline’s station manager Jaideep Sarkar and Assistant Commandant of Central Security Force Tapan Poddar also delivered brief speeches on the occasion.
