GUWAHATI, Aug 27: The city of Guwahati is all set to host the national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Mahila Morcha next month. Angoorlata Deka, the president of the women’s wing of the party in Assam, announced that the event will mark a significant milestone as it will be the first time that such a meeting is being held in the north-eastern region.
With over 180 representatives from across the country expected to attend, the two-day gathering is scheduled for September 9 and 10. The venue for this occasion is the Atal Behari Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati. The event will be graced by the presence of Vanathi Srinivasan, the president of BJP Mahila Morcha.
Angoorlata Deka, while addressing reporters, mentioned that members from the women’s wings of all northeastern states will be participating in the meeting. She also emphasised the concerted efforts being made to ensure the success of this event, underlining the significance of this unique opportunity for the region. (With inputs from PTI)
