Gyan Manjuri Alochona Chakra celebrates silver jubilee

MORIGAON, Dec 1: On completing twenty-five years, the premier literary organisation of Morigaon district, Gyan Manjuri Alochona Chakra, celebrated its silver jubilee amidst enthusiasm and in the presence of writers, poets, and media persons at Morigaon Zila Sahitya Sabha Bhawan on Sunday.

The silver jubilee programme began with the hoisting of the organisation’s flag by the members of Gyan Manjuri Alochona Chakra on the premises of Sahitya Sabha Bhawan. 

An open meeting, held in conjunction with the celebration of the silver jubilee programme, was inaugurated by social worker Dr Puniram Patar. The president of the reception committee of GMAC, Ajit Sarma, delivered the welcome address. The president of Gyan Manjuri Alochona Chakra, Harendra Bora, presided over the meeting. A souvenir titled ‘Gyan Manjuri’, edited by Jarjina Begum, was released by the president of MZSS, Mahendra Saikia. 

The open meeting was moderated by the secretary of the celebration committee of GMAC, Jyotish Barman, and the secretary of the reception committee of GMAC, Rituraj Goswami. 

Earlier, the members of Gyan Manjuri Alochona Chakra felicitated the invited guests, including noted writers Mileswar Patar, Nur Mahamad, Pradeep Parasar, Rina Rani Deka, and Dr Najma Begum, with a traditional gamosa and a japi each during the programme.
