HAFLONG, Sept 8: In an effort to bolster routine vaccination processes and extend immunisation coverage to all children and pregnant women in Dima Hasao district, a second-round meeting of the District Task Force (DTF) for Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0 was convened in Haflong.
Led by deputy secretary of DHAC, Rebecca Changsan, ACS, the meeting aimed to strategise and plan the implementation of IMI 5.0 in the district. Dr Marina Changsan, the district immunisation officer, shared crucial information during the meeting. She highlighted that the routine vaccination process would be carried out in three phases, with each phase scheduled for August, September, and October 2023, respectively.
The initial phase of immunisation under Mission Indradhanush 5.0 took place from August 7 to 12, 2023. The upcoming second phase is slated to occur from September 11 to 16, 2023, targeting children aged 0-5 years and pregnant women who may have been left out or missed during the previous round of immunisation.
Officials from various departments, including Medical & Health Services, Education, and Social Welfare, attended the meeting, demonstrating their commitment to the successful execution of this vital immunisation initiative.
